For many gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgendered people, traveling in a group vacation setting with other members of the LGBT community can represent a tremendous source of community, enjoyment and pride. The LGBT community has come a long way in understanding and acceptance from the rest of the world, but community is still important. Gay travel gives gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender individuals the opportunity to meet other LGBT individuals who share similar interests in travel and adventure. The most special gay travel opportunities look at various aspects of a vacation other than just sight-seeing. These aspects include self awareness, personal growth and spiritual growth. These workshops, retreats and travel journeys give members of the LGBT community an opportunity to learn and grow, but to also have a tremendous amount of pleasure and fun.
