Do you want to heal the split between body and spirit and change your relationship with desire? Reclaim the sacred power of your own desire through the mystic's path of holy desire, hidden in plain sight and waiting for those with eyes to see ...
Rumi, Hafiz, Lalla, John of the Cross, Saint Theresa of Avila, Guru Nanak, Dogen, Hildegard of Bingen, Francis and Assisi, and so many other great mystics through the ages discovered a secret so powerful, they gave their whole lives to its practice -- and so unexpected, they hid it in plain sight, where only those with eyes to see could recognize it! We are proud to offer a radical, playful and profound exploration of the deep erotic wisdom at the heart of the world's mystical traditions. This tradition recognizes our desire itself as rocket fuel for the spiritual journey, catapulting us from lust to longing to love to union with the divine, and answering some of the most difficult and important questions of our spiritual lives:
• Is desire wrong? Is desire really the source of all suffering?
• What do I do with desire? Is there away to harness desire in my spiritual practice?
• How can I feel good about my desire?
• What is the difference between lust and longing? What about addiction? pleasure? sex?
This tradition teaches us how to leave behind every story about who we are, experiencing the fullness of God in every aspect of our bodies, minds, hearts, spirits and lives, cultivating desire until it burns away all sense of separation. In this way, desire -- expressed through wholehearted embrace of our whole human experience and unconditional, self-emptying generosity -- is essential to the spiritual path of theosis, or union with God. Explorers from all spiritual traditions and no tradition at all are all welcome to this experience!
In this workshop we will draw upon the writings and practices of the greatest mystics of human history to rediscover the sacred in our own bodies, our feelings, our desires, in each other, and in our world. We will discuss the challenges and possibilities in our own experience of desire, and share in the embodied practices of the mystics, including breathing techniques, embodied prayer practices,, chanting, and sacred gazing.

"Divine eros is something far superior to one’s love for God. It is a kind of madness … a precise love of God - complete with sacrifices – simmers slowly inside the heart; then, just like steam, divine eros (which cannot be held back) bursts forth and unites with God … Divine madness takes a person beyond the earth’s pull; it lifts him up to the Throne of God, and makes him feel like a puppy at his master’s feet; a puppy licking His Feet joyfully and with reverence…" -- Saint Paisios
