Discover what Zen Master Dogen called, the Dharma Gate of Joyful Ease --
the practice of deeply embodied presence through meditation!
Zen is the discovery of a profound truth at the heart of your own being,
a wholeness that integrates and dissolves every aspect of your being in the simplest of practices --
relaxed, alert, supported sitting; conscious breathing;
quiet, easeful walking; and vibrating every cell of your being through chanting.
Zen unites everything inside you with everything outside you
in the most profound experience of sacred relationship
Zen is the ultimate manifestation of healing -- the union of the separate self with all that is.

For five days, we invite you to catch your breath, and remember what it feels like to relax, play, and enjoy the company of other soulful gay men. In this online, virtual healing meditation retreat, we will discover a way of meditating that cultivates true presence and intimacy with our lives, opens our hearts, and makes us available to the goodness and love around us. We will learn how to relax our hearts, minds, and bodies into joyful, loving presence. You will never think of love, your breath, your meditation, or your life, the same way again!
You will:
Discover a way of meditating that:
You will:
- unwind patters of stress and trauma in your body and mind
- cultivating loving-kindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity towards yourself and others
- cultivate true intimacy: a relaxed, responsive, and open heart
Discover a way of meditating that:
- works with your body instead of against it
- embraces your feelings and desires instead of shutting them down
- cultivates deep relaxation instead of rigidity
- helps you enjoy your life instead of escaping it
- deepens your relationships
- helps you surrender into the flow
Our playful and profound online meditation retreat will give you a foundation in chanting, sitting and walking meditation as practiced in the Zen Buddhist tradition, integrated with a wholehearted and embodied exploration of being fully human through powerful conscious breathing, movement practices, deep sensing exercises, and heartfelt sharing. Conscious breathing, the cornerstone of spiritual practices around the world, will show us how to relax habitual patterns in the mind and body, soften our rigid sense of self, perceive the subtle fields of living energy and interdependent relationship that we arise from, and touch the truth of our own awakened nature. We will also be drawing on some of the most beautiful Buddhist teachings from Dogen and other Buddhist practitioners throughout time in our exploration and practice of the four boundless attitudes in our everyday lives. Every day will consist of two hours of experiential learning and practice in the morning, one hour of practice and sharing, in the late afternoon, a rich packet of suggested readings, and viewing recommendations for movies, documentaries, and video programming.
Our Daily Schedule!
This retreat is perfect for beginners and experienced meditators alike! No previous meditation experience necessary! |
